Has anyone here examined G. R. Hunter's correlation between the Indus, Brahmi and Devangari scripts?

The upcoming 16th World Sanskrit Conference, 2015 will be held at Bangkok, Thailand. I am presenting a paper titled "प्रकरणस्य तात्पर्यावधारकत्वम्" in the Linguistics stream, completely in Sanskrit in this conference.

What is with the word "Hindu"

What is with the word "Hindu" I as a Linguist, Sanskrit scholar and Indology researcher - tend to increasingly think that some Western scholars are more genuine in their studies of the ancient texts from Bhaarat and don't try to give their own interpretations there by distorting the 4 mains pillars of 'Sanaatana dharma' (Hinduism) - 1). Dharma (Customs and Rituals), 2). Samskriti (Culture), 3). Shastra and Darshana (science and philosophy) and finally the path to merge in the Ultimate 4). Adhyaatma (Spirituality). Note that all the 4 are intertwined, but a scholar should know how to separate these things just like a "Annapakshi" (Celestal Swan). Here in this piece one person questions why Hindus are not using the term "Hindu". https://www.myind.net/h-word-hindus-and-self-loathing https://www.myind.net/h-word-hindus-and-self-loathing

Here is a portion from Yogi Baba Prem's message of the day that is emailed free to those that would like to receive it: To continue our exploration of the word 'Brahman' the expansive mind that is divinity, one must recognize that all the devas are names of Brahman. These are forms and streams of consciousness that create all matter and form creation from the subatomic levels to visible matter. This comprises the saguna Brahman (Brahman with qualities) referred to in Vedanta. To examine this, let's look at the Vedic deity Agni-the sacred fire. Within your physical body the manifestation of this would be the digestive fire called jatharagni. This is an agni of the mind mano agni, which is our ability to digest information. On a cosmic level, Agni is the energy field that is the turbine of creation. Agni would be Surya in the realm of light and within the ethers Agni would be Vayu, this is the realm of intermediate space. Of course, we can do a similar analysis with each

"vaidika-surya-namaskaaraH" - "वैदिकसूर्यनमस्कारः"

"vaidika-surya-namaskaaraH"  -  "वैदिकसूर्यनमस्कारः" "arunaprashnaH" (अरुणप्रश्नः) also knowns as "surya-namaskaara mantraH" is an important mantra in Vedas, considered with the same level of veneration as that of Rudram, Chamakam, Purusha-suktam, Sri-suktam, etc. The entire "arunaprashnaH" (अरुणप्रश्नः) also knowns as Surya Namaskara Mantram is in the first prashnaH of Taitriya aaranyakam of Krishnayajur-veda. In this "arunaprashnaH" (अरुणप्रश्नः) (also knowns as "surya-namaskaara mantraH") there are 132 "panchaasatiH" (paragraph) spread in 30 "anuvaakaH" (hymn). When this mantra is recited, at the end of each "panchaasatiH" (total 132) or each "anuvaakaH" (total 30) it is in our samskriti to offer one "ardha suryanamaskara", facing east and chanting "chhaaya-suvarchalaamba sameda-shri-suryanarayana-swamine namaH". The "ardha suryanamakara" consis

What is the ulterior motive behind this community, in my opinion: One of the important book that I read was "Deivathin kural" (In Tamil) by Kanchi Shankaracharya Sri. Chandrasekarendra Saraswati Swami ji- this book (set of 8 volumes) is actually talks given by Swami ji since 1950 to 1990 (he was referred to as Paramacharya or Maha Periyava). I got this book 4-5 years back, yet till date I couldn't even complete the first volume. Because I couldn't proceed beyond a particular point due to the feeling of guilt. The guilt is more deep and  about the quantum of adharma which I am directly committing every day and every minute personally and also being part of the collective adharma which is going on willingly. Paramacharya hits us with a hammer in the first book itself - he mainly criticizes Brahmins who left their dharma (here the meaning of dharma is most important duty) and went into making money - he says this is the reason for the problems of the society. The Brahmin

Navaraatram (नवरात्रम् - नवानां रात्रीणां समाहारः) I post a question here about Navaratram - we do it at 3 levels 1. Custom level (Sampradaya) - there are multiple customs - some do pooja in group, some do it in the road, some strictly inside the house, some dance-some don't, some eat sweets, some don't, some don't eat rice, some don't lock the house for all the 10 days, some travel, some observe total fast for all the 10 days with just water. Do we know why these?? and what is the purport behind these customs? 2. Cultural level (samskriti - there are 3 prayojanas) - here pooja is with Kalasha, or with Mukha, or with Yantra, etc. Poorna vratam is observed, partial vratam such as abstaining from some foods are observed, some kind of Japa is done or sahasranama is recited. what are all the significance of all these ? - what is behind this culture? 3. Philosophical level (taatparyam) - what the purport behind the metaphorical story and the alibis?, what is the highest trut
