What is with the word "Hindu"
What is with the word "Hindu"
I as a Linguist, Sanskrit scholar and Indology researcher - tend to increasingly think that some Western scholars are more genuine in their studies of the ancient texts from Bhaarat and don't try to give their own interpretations there by distorting the 4 mains pillars of 'Sanaatana dharma' (Hinduism) - 1). Dharma (Customs and Rituals), 2). Samskriti (Culture), 3). Shastra and Darshana (science and philosophy) and finally the path to merge in the Ultimate 4). Adhyaatma (Spirituality). Note that all the 4 are intertwined, but a scholar should know how to separate these things just like a "Annapakshi" (Celestal Swan). Here in this piece one person questions why Hindus are not using the term "Hindu".
