Complete Bhagavadgita - lectures on all slokas in simple English by Swami Paramarthananda Saraswati. Swami Paramarthananda Saraswati, a disciple of Swami Dayananda Saraswati and Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, has been giving lectures on Vedanta, in Chennai for the past 30 years. He has firmly ignored many calls by devotees to start an Ashramam all these years and lives in a small 2 BHK apartment which he bought for his mother much before his Sannyaasa.  He formally studied in a Gurukula paramparaa - Veda, Sanskrit, Shastra, Smriti granthas. He has released (informally to his students) a hand-written notes (a 30-40 page booklet) on Upasarga, which I got hold of two years back and still refer, his scholarship in Sanskrit vyakarana amazing. He is the teacher of Swami Omkaranandaji (Theni) and also Swami Guruparanandaji. During 2012, I had the opportunity to personally visit Swamiji's house and got his blessings and also had a long one-to-one discussion on "Sabdabrahma" He is...

Nice thought!

Nice thought! For some time, one question was pondering me. When rishis talk about creation destruction of this universe, I wondered How They were able to. Explaining things that are to present, That's was Good, But How come destruction which Will happen after some billions of years. But yesterday when I woke up, as every one has, thoughts used to run in my mind, I need to do this today, go there, meet someone, etc etc. After a while the thoughts Will get alligned. So the rush of thoughts is bhrama, the thoughts when gets streamlined is vishnu. Organised way is sthitikara. When during our sleep when manas isn't there That's shiva's aspect, So that means creation, maintenance and the destruction does happen every day within us. Hence pondering on that our rishi's might have given up such info. (There could be other ways too But this one seems good to me ) So That's the reason It's told to take vishnu after waking up and shiva's name while going to...

Where's my thinking going ?

Where's my thinking going ? Our Scriptures talk lot of yagya, yaga,,rituals right. Does that karma itself gives me Good results? Or God needs to be pleased with my acts? If you say that God needs to intervene then the point that God being nirguna, who never has any beyond feelings, never onto any gunas ? How he Will be pleased? Persons like ramana maharsi, shankaracharya never felt happy or sad come What may! They were just sakshi to things, so Will be God right! So How my Good karma like yagam Will help me? I don't say that I'm against all of them. But want someone to enlighten me on this!

It was nearing the end of the Dwarpa Yuga, an age was coming to a close and a new age was beginning to grip humanity, the birth of the Kali Yuga was emanate.  Among Krishnas last teachings was that he accepts worship in three ways: 1. Vedic 2. Tantric 3. A combination of the two. After having given his final teachings, Krishna began to meditate, and burned the body through Agni Dharana, leaving this physical plane.  Thus ushering in the Kali Yuga. --Yogi Baba Prem

“Don’t we conserve a rare, old painting or sculpture?

“Don’t we conserve a rare, old painting or sculpture? This is a live language…and rich cultural heritage which might become the casualty of neglect just as great civilisations like Hampi, the art of Ajanta and temples of Konark got buried in oblivion. It was up to the British to discover them later. Sanskrit, along with its culture, philosophy and science might become similarly extinct. On the other hand, there is so much yet to discover through Sanskrit." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/indiahome/indianews/article-3038926/Sanskrit-fever-grips-Germany-14-universities-teaching-India-s-ancient-language-struggle-meet-demand-students-clamour-courses.html#ixzz3XLeFoPn9
