Nice thought!

Nice thought!
For some time, one question was pondering me. When rishis talk about creation destruction of this universe, I wondered How They were able to.
Explaining things that are to present, That's was Good, But How come destruction which Will happen after some billions of years.

But yesterday when I woke up, as every one has, thoughts used to run in my mind, I need to do this today, go there, meet someone, etc etc. After a while the thoughts Will get alligned.
So the rush of thoughts is bhrama, the thoughts when gets streamlined is vishnu. Organised way is sthitikara. When during our sleep when manas isn't there That's shiva's aspect,
So that means creation, maintenance and the destruction does happen every day within us.
Hence pondering on that our rishi's might have given up such info. (There could be other ways too But this one seems good to me )

So That's the reason It's told to take vishnu after waking up and shiva's name while going to sleep.
So that vishnu helps organised in Good way, and shiva so that he kills the manas for that night and takes us to samadi. ( as shankaracharya says, nidara samadhi sthiti , now I understood the meaning of it: ) )

Was laughing at my self since this obvious thing I didn't understand.

  1. That is fine. I agree. But there must be a difference in the
Creation and destruction process of we, the ordinary mortals,
and the Rishis, who have attained Realisation.

  2. Vedas are shabda pramaana, Purana is artha pramaana - here artha means intended /suggested meanings  (so you shouldn't take the meanings literally).

Shiva is referred to as the one who annihilates the Tripura (three worlds) - what is the intended meaning of the word - shiva - means Pavithram, Mangalam, etc. - If so, then how the destruction of 3 worlds becomes pavithram ? - the word Tripura, its  intended meaning is - the three states of our (mind) existence - jaagrath, swapna and sushupti. - The forth is not a state but the ultimate truth itself and that itself is shiva.

So, in all puranaas everywhere this kind of a personification (roopakam) takes place for anything and everything - if you take it literally then it leads to many contradictions and conflicts.

  3. I tend to accpt your interpretation of three states of existance. The transistant forms are personified as three murthies. In pralaya every aspect of creations, existance and destruction goes into Bramham- and samashti srishti starts again with creation of bhramma

  4. Bramaha starts the vyakthi srishti.

  5. The 3 worlds are not personified as 3 murthis but as 3 worlds. The trimurthi is again different manifestation of the same ultimate /absolute. It is like a seed - the time to manifest into expression (birth) and full expression (growth), deterioration and self destruction (death) - all the 3 are codified into a single seed - how much ever small or big it is. This is the purport of Maharishi Uddalaka when he teaches 'tat-tvam-asi' with a seed of a banyan tree to his son Swetaketu in Chandogyopanishad. Everything that is necessary for the seed is in the seed itself. Rest all are considered to be Sahakaari kaaranam and not Mukhya kaaranam.

Puraanas teach the same truth in a different way with lot of figures of speech - metaphor, metonomy, similey, etc. So we need to look much more deeper when we read Puraana.
