Must read for all resurgent Indians, more so for the English-language speaking Indian elites, who simply echo the Western ideas without even having any first hand understanding about their own mother (language). http://www.flipkart.com/battle-sanskrit-sanskrit-political-sacred-oppressive-liberating-dead-alive-english/p/itmedujezthx3ypy

Originally shared by KIRON KRISHNAN   The Reality behind the Ashvamedha - Does Veda advocate it? Vedic period, as we have seen many times, was not homogenous throughout, nor was its society. As we can see, the Vedic poets and sages were spiritual, while the common people could not easily resort to the simplicity of "no ritual" idea. People usually like myths, and complex hypothesis involving supernatural elements to explain the day to day phenomena. The divinely inspired poets of Rig Veda were also secluded from the upcoming ritualists, and we have seen this tension many times within the Rig Veda, but Vedic poets take care that the satire and the refutes are not explicit, but in their poetic cryptic way. May be ritualists threatened the sages...                  One of the foremost poets of world's history, the great Dirghatamas Aucathya, explicitly discusses the upcoming ritual of his time, the Ashvamedha, in three poems - Rig Veda 1.162, 1.163, 1.164. Importance of mother tounge.

Importance of mother tounge. this is my observation and please do comment if u want to say something. Though there are lot of articles on sanskrit language, its importance and where to learn. I think its best to talk to god with our mother tounge. Why because.. say I'm an indian where english is a foreign language, there are some emotions which i cant express it well in english.. mother tounge always touches our soul. Suppose i say.. "what on earth is happening? ??" There's a degree of emotion of either surprise or anger i carry which of u ask me to say ot in telugu or sanskrit.. i may literally translate however it may not carry the same emotions. Or anothet example.. " what the hell is going on here". Now lets translate into hindi. Kya horahha hain narak me .. its funny right.. so my belief would be ..if u are doing some jappa or singing songs. Prefer it in ur mother tounge.. those words touches ur soul.. rather than byhearting some astotra or sahasranana...
