What a pathetic state we have reached. If women wants to go, let them go. There should be no stopping one. Our society has never changed, we fear change.
I don't know from where the author got those reasons, what I heard in a pravachanm is that, the energy installed (prathishta) is not good for uterus of woman. That's why they don't allow women between age 10-50.
During the period of menstruation, toxic energies and impurities emanate from women. In olden days, because of this impurity, ladies used to be confined for four or seven days. It is a very ancient wise practice of our ancestors.. During menstruation, women are attracted by negative spiritual energies. There are evil spirits who enjoy the menstrual blood of women. Sri Narayana Guru has also mentioned about such spirits. Not only in Sabarimala, women in India do not enter temples or holy places during the period of menstruation. Only the foolish and servile Hindus try to tarnish the Indian culture in order to please the anti-India and anti-Hindu forces.
Mukundan P.R. this is all heresay information. prove your point where is it said in vedas/elsewhere. these are all masculine powers at work. unless it is proved, why should one believe
Practically #1 women in age group(10-60) can she practice 41 day mandala vratham ? #2 can we get the facility for such women up in the hills ? Considering the pathetic facility for defecation even now for swami's
I dont know of implications of taking a mandala vratham. Someone from Ayurvedic /Sidha medicine background should be able to enlighten us.
I wouldnt suggest women go, because the facilities are not sufficient even for male counterparts. But instead of allowing men and women go together, (lot people believe in women being impure and things like that which may cause fights here and there). there can be separate season open for women only. (I am not sure whether this practical though)
I agree one shouldn't blindly follow anything, but isn't it the other way until it's proved wrong you follow what is working now. Not just this specific issue.
Chandrasekar M Has anyone shown interest in understanding what is this fuzz all about. Has anyone offered any opinion from Ayurvedic perspective so far to support the claims of women being impure? I believe there are none, hence no claims can come.
Basically nobody cares. This is a male dominated society, and people conveniently forgetting this. That's my take.
We were doing the same thing with "lower" caste people at the beginning of the century. Do we not realize that it is wrong?
I personally believe women have more faith in god than men. They definitely deserve better.
Anantha Narayanan I completely agree that they deserve much better.
But I am worried only about the approach. If someone really has that much wish for going to Sabarimala, does anyone approached Spiritual Gurus/Ayurvedic experts to reason it out. Or asked Sabarimala devosam board to explain why such a rule and give proof for the same. I remember women organizations fighting for the same few years back, they never pursued. Every now & then someone will write or file a case and talk for few days/weeks and that's it.
That can be done only by someone truly want this to be changed/addressed.
You know the chanting of a mantra is quite important. Slight changes in tone, tempo or enunciation can dramatically change a mantra. It is important to chant as specifically stated in the Vedic texts and traditions of India.
Thanks to Dr. Sundara Rajan we are knowing the good facts. Vruksha Ayurveda (Botany) is the subject matter of the video. As Dr says "Don't be a snub/fanatic. Try to learn what our ancestors knew and try to prove us to be their worthy descendants. Don't believe in all fantastic stories, what can be proved today, that itself is too huge." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFvzTH-q2Uw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFvzTH-q2Uw
Hindus mostly cremate the dead bodies. But the bodies of a Yogi or Sanyaasi is either buried or drowned in river. My question is, if this is the practice in case of Sanyaasis or Yogis, then why in the Ishavasya Upanishad, the last 2 verses call upon Agni to burn the body?
Who is the author,.......
ReplyDeleteAnantha Narayanan its there in screen shot

ReplyDeleteMukundan P.R. Ladies menstrual blood is called Rajo Raktham. Its not normal blood.
ReplyDeleteOur ancestors practiced walking for miles, do we practice the same? Please do not blindly follow any practice. Try uncovering facts beneath them.
I am no authority to say that ladies should be allowed or not allowed. I just vouched my personal opinion.
The regular flow of menstrual blood shows ladies are healthy and they should be considered pure.

The sabarimala board was the one which proposed "purity" checking machine to allow/disallow women. How worst anyone can think like this.
ReplyDeleteHas any one studied Krishna yajur Veda? Or is explicitly mentioned what a woman in periods can do and should not do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reference Vasudevan Tirumurti. Any pointers, where?
