ReplyDeletethere can be nothing better than Bhagavad Gita which has slokas in both anushtubh as well as trishtubh - chose the appropriate adhyaya depending on the time available for parayanam
ReplyDeleteSorry to reply late, if I understood your question I would prefer start with vishnu sahasranamam. Its shorter than Bhagavad gita, the words would be somewhere in everyone's brain owing to the popularity of MS patti.
