Cell biologist Glen Rein … and IHM Research Director Rollin McCraty conducted a series of experiments in the early 1990s involving DNA and intentionally generated emotions. A decade later interest in these experiments persisted. After numerous requests, McCraty summarized their data and published the results of the research in 2003 in a brief report titled Modulation of DNA Conformation by Heart-Focused Intention.
"The results provide experimental evidence to support the hypothesis that aspects of the DNA molecule can be altered through intentionality," Rein and McCraty wrote. "To our knowledge, this study was the first to correlate specific electrophysiological modes with the ability to cause changes in a biological target (DNA) external from the body. The data indicate that when individuals are in a heart-focused, loving state and in a more coherent mode of physiological functioning, they have a greater ability to alter the conformation (shape or structure) of DNA."

my take: A Good starting point towards a series of research - which can have larger impact to the society and help people heal themselves or atleast speed-up healing process while they're ill, etc. Though this is subjective (person dependant) there are ample evidence to suggest that many more possibilities exist. I'm happy that Science is moving in the right direction - moving object to subject, moving from material to sentinel. It is not that we've understood everything wrt. material world but the sentinel world and their senses, emotions, etc. also need equal attention, may be more attention - particularly when the majority of the human race despite having all the comforts which couldn't even be dreamt of in the past, are not being happy.
I am not sure if modern science has known anything lesser than a nano-particle. Our vedas already tell of particles much beyond our imagination. The size of matter we know can be infinitely small or big. In such an environment whatever small we discover there are even smaller things. Modern science only recently has started to admit this. As you said, it is moving in right direction. But if some serious research coupled with our ancient knowledge is happening, I will be mre delighted. But as we have leads like this, we are not ready to rethink what we have learned. For instance DNA, as we know might not be what we might think. Time will reveal what is truth, in due course as it had always like this.
ReplyDeleteThe scientific fretenity is full of Realists (deductionists) and not idealists (inductionists) - there are both plus and minus due to this. With respect to and subjective study inductive logic is the best method - there the scientist becomes a philosopher - later day Einstien was more of an Idealist. With newer and newer instrument it is possible to find even smaller size of matter - at any subautomic level - not much of a use due to the difficulty in manipulating that. Thus a simple job can become more complex - Eg. For power generation - instead of Hydrogen Fuel cell - it is easier, more efficient and convenient to use Solar - with the invention of thin-film solar it is a lot more durable. Why then hydrogen cell - more power in a short span of time - a power outburst - Eg. : a hydrogen fuel cell can be used in a Race car - that won't be possible with a Solar cell and an ordinary battery.
