What is nature of happiness?

What is nature of happiness? If a man thinks that his happiness is due to external causes and his posessions, it is reasonable to conclude that his happiness must increase with the increase of possessions and diminish in proportion to their diminution. Therefore if he is devoid of possessions, his happiness should be nil. What is the real experience of man? Does it conform to this view? In deep sleep the man is devoid of possessions, including his own body. Instead of being unhappy he is quite happy. Everyone desires to sleep soundly. The conclusion is that happiness is inherent in man and is not due to external causes. One must realise his self in order to open the store of unalloyed happiness. - Sri Ramana Maharshi

Its nearly Vijaya Dasami. On this day, let us try to learn what has been the meaning of sloka in Hanuman Chalisa. Jug Sahastra Jojan Par Bhanu, Leelyo Taahi Madhur Phal Jaanu Wiki source gives us this meaning: The Sun is at distance of thousands of miles and it takes eons to reach there. You gulped it, thinking it to be a sweet fruit. Now I am also seeing various blogs claiming the calculation of distance from Earth to Sun is being described exactly here. Their calculations go as below: Calculation Here: Jug (Yuga) in Hindu philosophy is the name of an 'era' within a cycle of four ages. These are Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. The length of these yugas is 4800 years + 3600 years + 2400 years + 1200 years for a total of 12,000 years of the demigods. One year of the demigods is equal to 360 years of the human beings. Hence the calculation of Yuga in human years is: Yuga Demigods Years 1 demigod year = 360 Human Years Human Years Satya Yuga 4800 360 1728000 T...

I get reminded of Bhagavadgita sloka - "Uddharet aatmanaa aatmaanam na aatmaanam avasaadayet | Aatmaiva hyaatmano banduh aatmaiva ripuh aatmanah ||" Originally shared by Krishnamurthi CG Cell biologist Glen Rein … and IHM Research Director Rollin McCraty conducted a series of experiments in the early 1990s involving DNA and intentionally generated emotions. A decade later interest in these experiments persisted. After numerous requests, McCraty summarized their data and published the results of the research in 2003 in a brief report titled Modulation of DNA Conformation by Heart-Focused Intention. "The results provide experimental evidence to support the hypothesis that aspects of the DNA molecule can be altered through intentionality," Rein and McCraty wrote. "To our knowledge, this study was the first to correlate specific electrophysiological modes with the ability to cause changes in a biological target (DNA) external from the body. The data indicate that w...

Quantum physics tells us that "Nothing that is observed is unaffected by the observer".

Originally shared by Krishnamurthi CG Quantum physics tells us that "Nothing that is observed is unaffected by the observer". That statement, from science, holds an enormous and powerful insight. It means that everyone sees a different reality, because everyone is seeing what they create - unknowingly. Each thought, each emotion creates a new pattern within the DNA, the cellular structure and the molecules of our entire Universe (Universe is Spritual as per Quantum Physics). One cannot think, or feel without the whole universe receiving the vibration of that thought or feeling. We all are in this together...we all are ONE including all Spritual and material stuff. We are indeed that powerful to change - both us and the world around. So when Gandhiji said :Be the change you want to see in the world". In my view he was in a way explaining the Veda Vak "Sarvam khalvidam Brahma" and and "Aham brahma asmi"
