Note that there are eleven ways of reciting the Vedas were designed – संहिता पाठ Samhita, Pada, Krama, Jata, Maalaa, Sikha, Rekha, Dhwaja, Danda, Rathaa, Ghana. Samhita is where there is no split. The samhita was travelling by oral transmission only. Different methods of recitation with various permutation and combination were practiced. This is for the preservation and memorization.

ReplyDeleteThe above link, Rudram has been chanted in Ghanam
Nice to know that, and thanks for sharing the link. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing such a beautiful lesson. I remember a Tamil proverb. What we know or have learnt is not equal to sand in our single palm whereas what we don’t know is the size of infinite.
ReplyDeleteOh I found about other videos, These videos are actually part of veda jugalbandi, where sandhya vandanam mantras were being chanted in rigvedic and yajurvedic accents, and this one was the introduction video of that series to understand, mantra, mantra chanting, its forms etc. After that the mantras were being chanted once by the rigvedic brahmins and once by krishna yajurvedic brahmins, on the stage. Was so pleasing to hear, the above video 😊💐💐
ReplyDeleteSandeep Chatterjee are those available in YouTube?
ReplyDeleteYes, take a look at that this brother, youtube.com - Rig veda and Yajur veda jugalbandi , it is so melodious, and since all the mantras are known mantras, it is very nice to listen to them in a musical way. The Ghanapathi is the channel, but here you can find the start of jugalbandi
