Sanyasis, rational thinking

Sanyasis, rational thinking

People say, sanyasis are not aware of physics laws or scientific progress. They are locked down in caves, in a lonely atmosphere. Good for nothing. They simply say they know God.

There are some other people who claim that the sanyasis know everything that's known and unknown to humanity.

I tend to believe truth is somewhere between. To those who oppose knowledge gained by sanyasis, and to those who prefer scientific analysis for everything, I have to ask only one thing.

Has science known everything? Well no. You will reach a state of no answer in any path of scientific knowledge. As man is limited, so is his knowledge. Science has its limitations, it's in its path to finding more and more discoveries, but to understand an aspect such as mind which is kind of black box as far as science is concerned what scientific equipment/method can be used?

To those people who praise everything old, out of imagination is really bad. These are people who won't bother even to investigate what the sanyasis achieved in their lifetime. They did not talk big claims like you. They were completely lost, for they did not want to indulge in petty discussions. Try to find some time and analyze what their lives may have been. They are not magicians, they are simply people like us.

The only tool which can be used in similar situations is rational thinking. The powers of mind are amazing. It makes a completely paralyzed man like Stephen Hawking a genius. His mind is his only strength. There is no need to worry about who is taking good or who is telling bad. Simply focus on oneself, that's enough.

The other tool apart from rational thinking which can aid oneself in knowing God, is persistent practice. With these two things, which are totally within everyone's control we can experience God.

Start your journey by unlearning whatever you have learnt so far. Don't just learn, unlearn too.

  1. Scientists at least do something with their God given brain...
what are sannyasis doing? They are running after intuitions!
    But yes, extremes cannot win.
One must go after knowledge, acknowledging what he does not know. That is what Yajur Veda VS 40 tells us.

  2. No.. don't unlearn!
Instead, know what you can't learn.
There ARE certain things that you cannot learn.
Learn to accept them, instead of going after intuitions!

  3. Lord Indra Unlearning is the best way to learn. One must be the best judge of what to unlearn. I didnt mean everything.

Sanyasis are not doing anything? Try to make your thoughts stop. You will know how difficult it is. Only when you can learn to stop your activities, or start at any time the concentration levels will be highest.

  4. One investigates introspectively, the other investigates externally and both perform each others and simultaneously both. I suppose it is more about how one perceives the ideal of what is being sought. Perhaps, if we are to unlearn anything it is truly our own perceptions that we must always be willing to look at honestly and be willing to change what is necessary to give space for learning if there is a time that calls for it. I feel there can be a mutual understanding from both.

  5. TriSaatNava NavaSaatTri you are right, its all perceptions that matter. The way external or internal is also a perception. In this illusory world everything that we perceive is an illusion. It is easy to get drowned.
