An essential part of learning a language is that it is used in daily life.

An essential part of learning a language is that it is used in daily life.
Even if we are learning sanskrit, we don't find (or face difficulties in finding) a group of sanskrit learners/speakers.
Can this community be of some help for such learners?

    Due to the tireless efforts of Samskrita Bharati and many volunteers, today there are about 10+ lakhs of Sanskrit speakers in Bharatam. This number will increase. What we have forgotten over 100+ years can't be just like that revived. We need more time, volunteers and people themselves have take the responsibility. Samskritam is not some foreign language, we need to put efforts to learn and speak - each one of irrespective of the outcome. No point in blaming anyone else.

    Each one of us is responsible. No body is stopping us from speaking in Sanskrit.

    I am learning sanskrit online by self study. I can form only simple sentences till now.
    Can people be gathered for conversing in simple sentences?

    Please forget the past, forgive the past 2 generations of Indians who didn't study Sanskrit. Nothing is lost, if one decides to start learning today and does so, itself is sufficient.

    The word Icchaa (इच्छा) - means will /need (not desire) - if there is a strong will and need to understand our culture and shastras then Sanskrit learning happens automatically in no time. Icchaa itself is a great shakti- that is why it is called as "icchaashakti" - without which nothing happens.

    Sanskrit seems very complex because it has 3 genders and 3 numbers which have different forms in 8 cases. Even the pronouns are different for the cases, genders and numbers.
    3 genders and 3 numbers along with the fact that some non living things are also categorized as male and female adds to the complexity.

I have been thinking recently about our state of temples.

I have been thinking recently about our state of temples. They have changed their forms from being cultural and binding factors to just business centres. mostly people who are visiting the temples are doing mechanical things. how can we revive the temples as discussion forums for arts, culture, social responsibilities from being just "transactional" in nature. there are satsangas being organized in the temples, but they just follow the bhakthi movement. how can we revive usage of sanskrit, learning of vedas, and then to create a more responsible generation than ours? ideas are welcome...
