Without Devanagari or without the diacritical marks it is difficult to translate. Particularly Hindi speakers make most of aksharas as halantas (consonants). Anyway let me try...
ReplyDeleteLet me be Progeny or son or anybody, birth is due to fate (daivam - means fate - not God) but my character is based on my choice (mada means intoxication so it does not fit in this context - it should be mata - means opinion or choice). Still there could be mistakes - need the original as it is.

ReplyDeletesuta putro va bhavaamyaham - means let me be a suta putra (charioteer's son) - the last line still not clear. Please write in Devanagari... or atleast for all deergha-varnas put 2 letters like aa (or) ee - like this...

I listened, it is matayettam and my translation is right. Also many Hindi speakers don't pronounce Sanskrit properly. Least said is good about these kind of TV programs - most of them distort the actual Itihasa !

The best Samskritam, from what I heard so far is spoken by people from Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Dharawad regions of Karnataka and some parts in Andhra, Ujjaini and some parts of Maharashtra. The influence of Urdu corrupts Samskritam. Most of the colloquial spoken Hindi is nothing but Urdu.
ReplyDeleteMany in South India are not comfortable with Urdu /Persian /Arabic words - that's why they have difficulty with Hindi (Urdu). With respect to Samskrit words we have no problem as these words are already in usage in all South Indian languages. There could be many more daily usage words one can compile, with my limited Hindi (Urdu) knowledge these are the words came to mind !. Use the Samskrit words to improve your Samskrit.
