Guru’s mission is to show a disciple his own real form – Spiritual story
A female tiger attacked a herd of lambs. She was pregnant. While jumping (on the herd) she delivered and after sometime she died. Her cub started growing up with the herd of lambs. Like lambs even this cub started eating grass. The cub bleated like lambs do. Slowly the cub grew up to be a young tiger.
One day a tiger, from the jungle attacked the herd. This tiger was very surprised to see a grass-eating tiger amidst lambs. He caught hold of the tiger. The young tiger started bleating, like a lamb. The tiger from jungle dragged him to a lake close by. Then he said to him, ‘see your reflection in the water. You can see your face in the water. Observe carefully, you look exactly like me. Take this piece of meat and eat it.’ After saying this, tiger from jungle forcefully stuffed a piece of meat into the young tiger’s mouth. Initially the grass-eating tiger was not ready to eat meat.
He was continuously bleating like a lamb; as he tasted a little bit of blood, he started eating that meat happily. Then the tiger from jungle said, ‘Do you understand now? You are the same, as I Am. Now come back to the jungle with me.’
– Pujya Dr. Vasant Balaji Athavale (Year 1990)
