Sindhu (Indus) script and Brahmi script are closely associated as both were used to write Sanskrit... This, my understanding based on the following facts -
1. लिपिः = वर्णव्यञ्जकः रेखोपरेखविन्न्यासः - so there are no set patterns for a lipi (script) as long as the symbol is able to suggest the Varna (phoneme) then it is acceptable as lipi (script).
2. Various traditional scholars of high repute have confirmed the Indus script as Sanskrit.
3. So far, from our other old scripts deciphered - poorva brāhmī, brāhmī, karoṣṭī, śāradhā, maithilī, grantha, nāgarī, tigaḷāri, etc. We understand that, all these scripts were indeed used to write Sanskrit and some are Sanskrit only.
4. there are 64 more scripts which were used to write Sanskrit, details of those scripts names etc. can be got from the Tibetian manuscript "Samavāyasutta" (Prakrit) - about 2000 years old - this is a published Buddhist manuscript.
5. The seals contain a specific species of cow - with the definition of cow in Mahabhāṣyam (the ancient Sanskrit Grammar treatise) - सास्नालाङ्गूलककुदखुरविषाणत्वम् (this word can't be translated in English) . This particular cow species matching exactly with the definition is called as "Tārpākkar" native of Rajasthan area and still bred in Rajasthan and anyone can buy even today - a Desi cow that gives you 20 liters of milk a day. Jersy is not a cow - it is like a larger size pig.
6. Indus seals also contains a person in Yogic posture with a Trident - the vedic deity śiva in meditative posture; seals and relics confirm many similarities and connections of Vedic culture and Sindhu (Indus) civilization.
7. Archaeologists from ASI and elsewhere have unearthed over 2000 sites from the northern states of India near Kashmir to Gujarat - the river belt of dried-up river Sarasvati - where similar seals like Indus valley seals have been found - one need not go to current day Pakistan to do any research as the artifacts are continuously being found in the dried up Saraswati river belt.
Saraswati civilisation and Sindhu (Indus) civilisation are one and the same. There are tons or research on this subject including by Dr. Kalyanaraman. There are many pictorial and photographic details with proofs.
I have a request to you - Kindly forward this post to as many people as possible...
