I have been thinking recently about our state of temples. They have changed their forms from being cultural and binding factors to just business centres. mostly people who are visiting the temples are doing mechanical things. how can we revive the temples as discussion forums for arts, culture, social responsibilities from being just "transactional" in nature. there are satsangas being organized in the temples, but they just follow the bhakthi movement. how can we revive usage of sanskrit, learning of vedas, and then to create a more responsible generation than ours? ideas are welcome...
I read the article, though its nice it refers to facts known to our ancestors as "coincidences".
ReplyDeleteI feel deeply that we have lost so much information from our ancestors and we are starting to feel their presence only when some scientist proves this as correct. Only then we start to believe. I know we have to blame the "East India Company rule" which caused this, but seriously have we lost our courage and determination to learn our scriptures?
The paarkadal churning which tells devas and asuras churns the parkadal (ocean of milk) and there came lot of stuff. Well normally people discard them as stories, but if you consider the birth of universe being depicted like this you will get more truths towards this. Any more thoughts on this?
